Join K.P. “KEPT2” Peralta (@kept2) for “IN, OF and FROM” an art workshop exploring our evolving relationships with identity, community and place. We will develop a collective understanding of problems in having difficult conversations about these topics, make art reflecting our experiences and imagine new ways to address shared challenges.
No previous art experience needed. Materials will be provided. Spots are limited to 20. If you cannot make it, please let us know at least 24 hours ahead of time so we can make room for others.
IN, OF and FROM, an interactive art workshop, empowers its participants to explore the meaning of belonging through the evolving relationships between our immigrant, QTBIPOC identities, the communities we belong to and the spaces we engage with.
Together, we will develop a collective understanding of the problems we face in having difficult conversations related to these topics. Workshop participants will create visual art that represents our individual experiences with these ideas and through a process of collaborative storytelling, we will imagine ways to address our shared challenges.
IN, OF and FROM extends the theme of the current community exhibition at The Fishbowl (@thefishbowlseattle). Between Borders and Belonging, curated by Judy Lee of weBelong (@webelongseattle), is on display at The Fishbowl through the end of May.
This workshop is part of The Fishbowl's Between Borders & Belonging Communal Group Show funded partially through a grant from 4Culture. The Fishbowl is fiscally sponsored by Shunpike.
